A Tree Grows in Brooklyn

I just finished a book called "A Tree Grows in Brooklyn," by: Betty Smith. It was unexpectedly good. I recommend it. I was really struck by the power of struggle and hardship present in the book, but it wasn't unpleasant, sympathizing with the characters drew me into the story. It's mix of very human, weakness filled, but beautiful characters made the book interesting even though it is one of those books where not a lot happens.
